Welcome to Atkinson 50 Years of Education 1969-2019

January 12, 2021
Dear Parents,
On February 1, 2021, our district will provide instruction asynchronously for "At Home Learning." This means schools have choices to provide flexibility in how students will learn. We want to honor our dedicated teachers' diligent work who need additional planning time to master lesson design for teaching face-to-face and virtual students at the same time. The campus will remain open for any student needing to attend face-to-face and regular transportation and meal service will remain in place.  However, your child also has the option to work from home and still earn credit for the day and class.  This is not a student holiday, nor is it a day for students not to engage on the instructional platform.  All students are required to log in to their platforms, complete assignments from teachers, and continue to make progress.  Our school cafeterias will serve curbside meals.
Students who attend school in person will complete lessons designed by their certified teachers but may not follow their normal routine or schedule during the day.  Staff members will be available to assist, but students are expected to complete assignments independently using their computers.
For planning purposes, please indicate if your child will work from home or if your child needs to attend school.

Your responses are due on Thursday, January 14, 2021.

You may also contact your child’s teacher with the answer to this question and the teacher will fill in the form with the information you provide.
Thank you,

Hello Eagle parents,

This is Mrs. Ortiz, Principal of Atkinson Elementary.  I want to inform you that, beginning in January, attendance calls will resume for all students.  Parents of students who are marked absent in a face-to-face classroom will be notified at the end of the day the were marked absent.  Parents of remote learners will be notified of an absence in a remote setting within 48 hours to allow for posting of assignments by the 11:59 deadline.  As always, if you receive an automated notification and you have questions, please contact the campus at (713) 740-0520.  In addition, after three days of unexcused absences, based on Texas truancy laws, a truancy warning letter will be mailed to the home address and emailed to the parent.

Pasadena ISD, we are excited about seeing our students who have chosen face-to-face instruction, starting Tuesday, Sept. 8. Just a reminder, all students must conduct a daily COVID-19 screening at home prior to entering any Pasadena ISD facility. Students who exhibit any of the symptoms on the COVID-19 screening tool must stay home. Let’s all do our part and adhere to these guidelines to keep everyone healthy.
