Attendance Incentive

 Dear Parents,

Atkinson is announcing an Attendance Incentive Program for our students. Your child must be PRESENT and ON TIME each and every day, so that they can earn rewards for attendance. Students will receive rewards each Friday if they are present and on time Monday-Thursday. Students who qualify for the Friday reward will receive a note each Thursday to go home. If the monthly goal is reached we will have a SCHOOL WIDE CELEBRATION.

Attendance is important to your child’s education and we encourage you to have them here each and every day.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call   713-740-0520.

Hey, Atkinson Elementary –

Kids Heart Challenge is on!  We are having great discussions about being healthy – physically, socially and emotionally!  The best learners eat healthy meals, are active, show up prepared – and we are all looking for ways to be kind and help others throughout our day.

We are committed to making a difference for heart diseases and stroke, and so far, we’ve raised $448.25!  Our goal is a big one, and we know we can do it.

We have some fun celebrations planned for when we do.  Any student that raises $100.00 will get to slime the PE Coaches!!

We’re also keeping track of the challenges we’re taking:

  • 2 students pledged to be prepared
  • 7 took the challenge to be active and move more
  • 13 pledged to be kind and help others

We’re also celebrating the grades with the most heart:

  • 4th Grade is in the lead with $227.21 raised
  • 1st Grade is in second place with $135 raised
  • 2nd Grade in third with $86.04 raised

Pro Tip:  Already downloaded the Kids Heart Challenge app or signed up online at  Awesome!  Your next step is to share the message either with social share tool or via email or text.  The more people you tell, the more people connect with the life-saving message and have an opportunity to support your student’s goal.

Parent Prompt:  This week, ask your student how their challenge is going.  How are they being more prepared? (eating breakfast? Remembering their homework? Getting enough rest? Eating so they have plenty of energy?).

Great News:  A $20 donation places 20 stickers in public places directing you to an AED!  Did you know that your child will know CPR by the time they graduate from high school thanks to American Heart Association sponsored legislation and funds raised by Kids Heart Challenge?
